Venezuela thanks the South African government for the conviction issued by its foreign minister, Ronald Lamola, in the face of the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, an act that constitutes a violation of international law and an act of war against the country.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil, through his Telegram account, expressed the gratitude of the Bolivarian Government for this show of solidarity and stressed that the voice of South Africa is united in the defense of sovereignty and respect for international law.
In his message, Gil evoked the memory of Nelson Mandela, a leader whose life was marked by unjust persecution and who is now remembered as a universal symbol in the fight against apartheid.
With this declaration, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to denounce the aggression it has suffered and to value the support of its sister nations in the defense of peace and the dignity of all peoples.
