The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela greets with hope and commitment the announced ceasefire and hostilities, as a result of the unjustified aggressions of Israel and the United States of America against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been reported by the parties in the last few hours.
This ceasefire constitutes an essential step to stop the escalation that threatened to destabilize all of Western Asia. The current crisis is triggered by aggressions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the bombing of nuclear facilities in its territory, which represents a serious violation of international law.
Venezuela reaffirms that this cessation of hostilities must be the starting point for a structural and lasting solution. As proposed by President Nicolás Maduro Moros on June 23, it is urgent to activate a multilateral mechanism to convene a Summit for Peace and against War in Western Asia.
In view of the latest events, the Venezuelan government welcomes the telephone conversation between His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. We reaffirm the value of this direct dialogue and of the commitment to good neighbourliness for the sake of the union of the peoples of the Muslim world.
Venezuela maintains its unwavering commitment to peace, the sovereignty of peoples and multilateralism.
Today, on the 204th anniversary of the historic feat
of victory in the Battle of Carabobo, we say with Father Bolivar: “
Peace will be my port, my glory, my reward, my hope, my joy and all that
is precious in the world”
Caracas, June 24, 2025.
