The Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, announced this Wednesday, January 28, the creation of five thousand initial education classrooms nationwide, to open a process of expanding the academic offer in preschool and maternal age.

“We are going to create five thousand preschool and nursery classrooms across the country, one in each commune to expand the offer,” he said during the launch of the intercourses phase of the 20th of the National Student Sports Games 2026, at the Carlos Fiol Industrial Technical School, in the Catia la Mar parish of the state of La Guaira, Radio Miraflores reported on its website.

Rodríguez recalled that the country experienced a complex start to the year, “so we had a great debate about what was right and the conclusion was that academic space would help our children go to classrooms with their classmates and their study dynamics with teachers who have tools to help them.”

He also highlighted that two weeks after that start of classes, more than six million children have been incorporated into the education system. However, for family or cultural reasons, there are still children who do not join the education system, so he asked for the support of communes, community councils, parents and representatives.

“Let's fill the gap for many children who are not yet in school because they don't have the conditions, or because they're alone with a family member who can't take care of them. Together we can bring the school fee to 100%,” he invited.
