Venezuela wins gold at Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad

The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, celebrated the outstanding participation of the Venezuelan youth, Ibrahim Rahwan Falaha, in the Singapore Mathematics Olympiad and Asian Schools (SASMO) 2026, in which he won the gold medal.
“Today we celebrate a new triumph that fills our hearts with joy and shows us that, with knowledge, we continue to build a science for life,” she said, quoted by the ministerial portfolio
This talented student, a native of Bolivar state, carried “our flag to the top in the biggest competition in Asia, standing out among more than 700,000 students from 50 countries thanks to his talent,” said the minister.
Minister Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez pondered the actions of these brilliant students who are part of the National Scientific Seed Program, which seeks to promote early vocations and awaken curiosity about sciences, technologies and innovations in all fields.
In the same way, he extended congratulations to Joseph Pérez for his participation in this demanding international event held on the Asian continent.
