Venezuela wins rowing medal during the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

Venezuela added another medal in the rowing discipline with the duo of César Amaris and José Guipe, who reached third place in the men's short rowing pair with a record of 6:39.62 on the second competitive day of Santo Domingo 2026.
The result represents the couple's second contribution to the national medal table in this edition, in addition to the victory obtained in the pair of short lightweight double paddles during the previous day.
The test maintained the order from the first kilometer where the Venezuelans scored 3:15.22 behind Cuba with 3:11.09 and Mexico with 3:13.01, in addition to holding that position until completing the 2,000 meters of the route.
Cuba crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 6:32.80 followed by Mexico with 6:34.58 and Amaris and Guipe who finished in third place with 6:39.62, in addition to improving the record achieved in San Salvador 2023 by 14.9 seconds.
In the women's category, Keyla García and Kimberlin Meneses finished in fourth place with 7:45.10 while Mexico led the category with 7:19.85 followed by Cuba with 7:24.46 and Guatemala with 7:35.19.
