Venezuela won five medals in the U-17 Pan American Wrestling Championship

The Venezuelan wrestling delegation concluded its participation in the U-17 Pan American Championship, held in Panama, with a total of five medals: one gold, two silver and two bronze.
Haniel Rodríguez led the national action by winning the gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, in the 55 kg category, the Ministry of Sports reported.
Rodriguez climbed to the top step of the podium after winning three previous bouts and securing victory in the final. This result represents their second regional title, after the gold won at the 2024 Sucre Bolivarian Youth Games.
The rest of the tricolor team's medal table was completed with two silver and two bronze medals. The national team consisted of 15 athletes, under the technical direction of coaches Denis Martínez, Itamar Díaz and Edward Díaz.
In the women's category, athletes such as Nairet Mayo and Asia Sánchez stood out, while in the men's category there were names such as Samuel Acosta and Fabián Córdova.
