Venezuela won the silver medal at the 2025 FIBA Under-17 Women's South American Championship

The Venezuelan national team won the silver medal in the 2025 FIBA Under-17 Women's South American Championship, which was held at the UENO COP Arena in Asunción, Paraguay.
The Criollas fell to the Argentinas 67-47 in the final. Thus achieving their third podium in their history in the South American Championship, the first in the last 10 years.
The podium was completed by the locals (Paraguay), after defeating their Brazilian counterpart, the reigning champion of the category, with a final score of 49-43.
A trio of national teams secured their ticket to the FIBA Women's Under-18 AmeriCup in 2026, which in turn will grant places to the FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2027.
The Criollas had four perfect performances, including victories against Colombia, Paraguay, Chile and Brazil.
