The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported this Friday that the global disruptions at airports that occurred due to the failure of Windows systems during this day, did not affect Venezuela, since the country has its own and independent methods.

“Today, the aeronautical world woke up with chaos for the screening of passengers at airports, due to a cyber blackout caused by computer errors. Our country will not be affected, because we have our own methods, independent of the global system,” said the head of Transportation, through his official account on the social network X.

Early this Friday, computer systems around the world crashed due to a massive Windows failure, affecting the services of numerous companies, especially airports and airlines. The cause was a corrupt update to a security protocol created by the company Crowdstrike, which is integrated into the Windows kernel, the central program that controls the operating system.

Security experts quoted by international media described this as “the biggest information technology interruption in history”.
