The foreign ministers of Colombia and Venezuela, Luis Gilberto Murillo and Yván Gil, respectively, met in the city of Cúcuta in the North of Santander, as part of a first meeting of the Monitoring Mechanism of the Neighborhood and Integration Commission, established between the two nations last June.
“During the meeting with the Colombian Foreign Ministry in Cucuta, we addressed important regional issues, including our joint rejection of the assault on the Mexican embassy in Ecuador. In addition, we share high expectations for Colombia's pro tempore presidency in CELAC in 2025,” said Gil.
He described as significant this meeting with the Colombian foreign minister, Luis Gilberto Murillo, in a city like Cucuta, where peoples from both countries have lived together and shared historically and are ready to consolidate new projects that promote mutual prosperity.
The Venezuelan foreign minister stressed that the meeting with the Colombian foreign minister strengthens unity and cooperation between their countries, with whom they shared positive news that will benefit both nations.
