The Minister of People's
Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a
meeting this Tuesday with his counterpart from Niger, Yaou Sangaré Bakary, who is
visiting the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to strengthen strategic cooperation relations between the two nations.
“We have
held a meeting aimed at strengthening our diplomatic ties and strategic
cooperation, on the occasion of commemorating 20 years of
bilateral relations established on October 8, 2005,” said the
Venezuelan Foreign Minister in a message published on his Telegram channel.
Gil stressed that,
during this visit by the Nigerian diplomat, they reaffirmed the unity between
Caracas and Niamey, as
a “legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and consolidated by President Maduro, under the principles of South-South integration.”
In the framework of the
80th session of the General Assembly of the
United Nations (UN), held recently in New York, both authorities
ratified the shared principles of bilaterality, diplomacy and mutual
cooperation, laying the foundations for a solid, lasting and impactful relationship for the future.
