Venezuelan athlete Anriquelis Barrios wins bronze in Judo Grand Prix

This Monday, Venezuelan judoka Anriquelis Barrios won the bronze medal in the -63 kilogram category of the Grand Prix de Judo de Lima, in Peru.

This was reported by the Ministry of People's Power for Sports through a press release in which it highlights that the two-time Olympic athlete overcame three of the four fights played in the international competition, in which 296 competitors from 50 countries participated.

Barrios advanced in the round of 16 after beating Romania's Amanda Zuaznabar-Torres by a yuko. After a setback in the quarterfinals against Brazil's Rafaela Silva, the Venezuelan beat Canada's Catherine Toshkov in the repechage phase to advance to the decisive fight.

In the definition of bronze metal, the Venezuelan athlete defeated the Spanish Ariela Sánchez with a score of two yukos to one. In the same competition, Venezuelan Karen León finished fifth in the +78 kilo division.
