The Venezuelan boxer, Omailyn Alcalá, won the gold medal in the World Boxing Cup in Brazil 2026, in the 57-kilo category, to become the first Creole champion in this sport.

In this regard, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, congratulated the boxer through her Telegram channel where she praised the courage of this athlete.

“Congratulations to our boxer Omailyn Alcalá for winning the gold medal in the World Boxing Cup in Brazil 2026 and becoming the first Venezuelan champion to achieve this world title. Bravo! Their courage and dedication raise the name of Venezuela and confirm that our young people have no limits,” wrote the president.
