Venezuelan delegation brought almost 50 medals from the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción

The Venezuelan delegation that attended the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción 2025 brought 46 medals and ranked ninth in the medal table.

The delegation was made up of 166 athletes, who won 12 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze medals.

The disciplines that brought the most gold medals to Venezuela were fighting with 4 medals and weightlifting with 3.

With these results, Venezuela surpassed the performance of the first edition of the Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021, where it won 7 golds, 8 silvers and 21 bronzes for a total of 36 medals and 11th place in the general classification.

Among the athletes with a notable update is the 18-year-old garrochista Ricardo Montes De Oca, who took the highest honors in pole vaulting after reaching the 5.45 meter mark and surpassing the Junior Pan American record of 5.20 meters.

For her part, the new promise of women's wrestling, Astrid Montero, became a two-time champion when she climbed back to first place on the -62 kg freestyle podium.

Meanwhile, Wilmary Toro said goodbye to the Paraguayan Olympic Committee skating rink, with 3 medals, one silver in the 1,000 meters individual sprint, one bronze in the 200 meters against the finish line and another of the same metal in the 500 meters + women's individual distance event.
