Venezuelan delegation will participate in the Americas Triathlon Championships in Colombia

With a delegation made up of 10 athletes, 1 parathlete and 3 coaches, Venezuela will participate in the Americas Triathlon Championships to be held at the Mystic Paradise facilities in Calima, Colombia on June 7 and 8, with the aim of securing places for the World Championship of the specialty to be held in October in Wollongong, Australia.
The Venezuelan national team is made up of: Dixon Hernández, Yaniuska Jiménez, Ramsés Montilla and Damelis Castillo who make up the junior category, as well as Aaron Hernández and Santiago Figuera in youth.
The under-23 delegation is made up of Christofer Cárdenas and Christian Torrealba; while the elite is made up of Luis Miguel Velásquez, Yhousman Perdomo, Samuel Piña, Marianny Antonelli and Génesis Ruiz, press review by Ministerio de Deporte.
For their part, the coaching staff responsible for guiding the triathletes during the championship is made up of Allan Robaina, Leomar Perdomo and Joel Yépez.
The main objective of the Championship is to continue the direct qualification to the World Triathlon Championship Finals Wollongong, Australia, which will be held from October 15 to 19.
For under-23 and elite athletes, the goal is to add points to the international ranking that will allow them to qualify for future competitions.
The athletes of the elite category will compete on Saturday, June 7, in the standard distance, which includes 1,500 meters of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running, while juniors will be measured in the sprint distance of 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running.
The youth, on the other hand, will participate in the supersprint distance, which covers 400 meters of swimming, 10 kilometers of running and 2.5 kilometers of running.
