Venezuelan athlete Edymar Brea Abreu won the 10,000-meter race at the Bolivarian Games ahead of Peru's Lizaida Valdivia, who had to settle for silver.
Brea made a time of 35 minutes and 47 hundredths, while Valdivia stopped the stopwatch at 35 minutes and 86 hundredths, in a race where only four athletes took the lead.
The 2025 Bolivarian Games are held from November 22 to December 7 in Ayacucho and Lima with the participation of more than 4,000 athletes from 17 countries, for whom it is the first event of the Olympic cycle with a view to Los Angeles 2028.
