Venezuelan baseball player Eugenio Suárez rounded off his third match of the 2024 season with five RBIs, the highest number in his profession that he has achieved for the seventh time since his major league debut in 2014, culminating Wednesday with a home run and two doubles in five rounds in favor of the Arizona Jingle Bells.

In the match that Arizona beat the Colorado Rockies 11-4, Suárez got hit in the first inning, scored twice to the left in the third, hit the Carabobeño Anthony Molina to charter Adrián del Castillo in the fifth, and at the close of the sixth he swept the bases with the four grand slams of his career and the first since 2018, a slap against reliever Riley Pint who went deep into the left center of the Chase Field in Phoenix.

With his five RBIs, Suárez was one of eight hundred, the eighteenth best number among active sluggers in the major leagues, tied with Mookie Betts. The current bigleaguer with the most trailers is Freddie Freeman (1214), followed by Paul Goldschmidt (1169), Joey Votto (1144), Nolan Arenado (1115), Andrew McCutchen (1084) and Giancarlo Stanton (1083).

The native of Ciudad Guayana recovered significantly in his offensive performance during the second half of the campaign. From batting for just .198 on average (278-55) with half a dozen home runs and 32 RBIs in 81 games between the opening date and July 2, his performance in the last 36 games has been key to keeping the Jingle Bells in the first place of the National League wild card.
