The celebration highlighted the invaluable legacy that Baiz has left in national

“At the National Cinematheque Foundation, we deeply value her
legacy,” said the president of the National Cinematheque Foundation, Vladimir
Sosa Sarabia, highlighting the artist's commitment and imprint on the
institution and in Venezuelan cinema.
The tribute
highlighted the filmmaker's role in the production and direction of Kaporito: The Mountain
Guardian, one of the first animated feature films made in Venezuela.
In addition, its close association with the
National Cinemateca Foundation, which dates back to its incorporation in 1981, was celebrated, demonstrating a
life dedicated to the seventh art from this important cultural space.
As part of the tribute, his acclaimed short films La
Equilibrista and Titiri-we: The Song of the Night were screened, allowing the public to appreciate a significant sample of his acclaimed work.
During the event, the honoree emphasized the need to promote constant children's
programming throughout the year, pointing out that animation
for the whole family and from multiple latitudes is essential to bring children closer to the seventh art.
The filmmaker emphasized the importance of cultural spaces,
stating that places such as the Cinemateca are “vital for these encounters”
between cinema and new audiences.
The event culminated with a special activity dedicated to younger audiences, who had the opportunity to share directly with the director, participate in painting workshops and enjoy refreshments, making this a tribute a true family celebration.
