The president of the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), Jorge Giménez, confirmed through an interview with Richard Méndez, reviewed by the newspaper Meridiano the four names being studied to assume the position as technical director of Vinotinto Absoluta.
The four names are: César Farías, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, Rafael Dudamel and Richard Páez.
Giménez explained that the selection of candidates responds to technical criteria, international experience and knowledge of Venezuelan football.
“The FVF intends to close the process in the coming weeks and announce the new coach before official commitments,” Giménez said.
On the other hand, under the direction of Páez, Vinotinto experienced a change in mentality and style of play in the 2000s.
Farías had a successful cycle at the helm of Vinotinto, where he qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2011 Copa América.
Meanwhile, Dudamel has already managed the Vinotinto absolute and the youth categories, managing to advance to the final of the U-20 World Cup in 2017.
For his part, Vizcarrondo, former central defender of the national team, has led the youth categories and qualified for the under-17 world championship.
The final decision will depend on factors such as the availability of the coaches, the sports project presented and the FVF's ability to guarantee clear working conditions and objectives.
