Venezuelan Jesús Luzardo will start for the Marlins in the opening game of the 2024 season

Miami Marlins announced that Venezuelan serpentineer Jesús Luzardo will serve as the ace of the rotation and will take the ball in the opening game of the season in Major League Baseball.

The Miami Marlins manager announced that the Peruvian-born Venezuelan will be the starter for the opening day against Pittsburg Pirates.

“Yesterday we decided as a group that he will be our initiator on Opening Day and with luck, this is the first of many for him. He became the ace of our staff. Sandy Alcántara was in charge of giving him the news. It's a really great moment for a manager to see the expression you know on his face when the news broke,” said manager Skip Schumaker.
