Venezuelan men's softball begins its participation in the XIII Pan American Championship in Colombia on 21F

Venezuelan men's softball will participate in the XIII Pan-American Games in Montería, Colombia, which will be held from February 21 to 28 and will grant places to the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026, the Pan American Games in Lima 2027 and the 2027 World Cup.
Venezuela comes to this event as number two in the world ranking, below Japan, and the leader of the American continent, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.
In 2025, Venezuelan softball scored 1,318 points, after winning first place in the World Cup (845), third place in the World Games (353), and fourth places achieved in the Pan American U23 (74) and U18 (46) Pan-American Games.
In addition, it is the second most winning selection in the Pan American Championship with three gold medals, two silver and one bronze, surpassed only by Canada, which also has three gold medals and one bronze medal, but has one more silver medal.
This edition is attended by 13 teams divided into three keys. Group A is made up of Argentina, Cuba, Panama, Aruba and Puerto Rico; group B is made up of Venezuela, Colombia, Canada and Peru, and group C is made up of the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, the United States and Mexico.
The competition begins this Saturday 21st with the duels of each group, from 24 to 27 a super round will be held between the top finishers of each bracket and on Saturday the 26th there will be matches for fifth and sixth place, bronze and gold between first and second in the standings.
The Venezuelan team debuts on Saturday against Canada (12:30 p.m.), on Sunday the 22nd they will face Peru (4:00 p.m.) and on Monday the 23rd they close this first phase against host Colombia (9:00 p.m.).
The top seven in the tournament qualify for the Santo Domingo CAC Games. The first six go to the Pan American Games in Lima 2027 and the five most winners ensure their presence in the qualifying phase of the 2027 Softball World Cup.
The selection list, once again led by Ramón López, consists of: Rafael Flores, Luis Colombo, Enyelbert Herrera, Jean Flores, Erwin Díaz, Joiser Falcón, Daiver Alvarado, Manuel Heredia, Pedro Flores, Carlos Ortega, Ángel Adames, Franklin Benítez, Rogelio Sequera, José Dorantes, Eduardo Juárez and Kleiver Rodríguez.
