Venezuelan national wrestling team won the title at the South American Youth Games

The Venezuelan wrestling team reaffirmed its position as champion of the South American Youth Games, after obtaining four gold medals, three silver medals and an equal number of bronzes, in the gymnasium of the Luis Mejías High Performance Center, in Panama.

Ecuador ranked second in the overall medal table with two gold, four silver and three bronze medals, followed by the representation of Panama, with one in gold, two in silver and one in bronze, according to the Ministry of Sports press.

In the previous edition of Rosario, Argentina 2022, Venezuela also ranked at the top of the discipline with eight gold, one silver and two bronzes.

On the last day, the Venezuelan Haniel Rodríguez was crowned in the 55 kg division of the Greco-Roman style, after beating the Ecuadorian Manuel García 3-1.

For his part, Fabián Córdoba won the silver medal after falling to Brazilian Wadick Lovosier in the 65 kg Greco-Roman division.
