Venezuelan parataekwondo won four medals

The Venezuelan adapted taekwondo delegation won a total of four medals, one silver and three bronze, in the Parapan American Championship of the specialty, which was held at the Carioca Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Manuel Marchand won the silver medal in the men's -63 kg K44 division after losing 0-2 to Brazil's Joao Ribeiro in the grand final.
His path to the podium began with a solid 2-0 win over his compatriot Orlando Figueroa to secure a pass to the semifinals.
In that instance, Marchand showed his best level by beating Brazilian Anderson Da Hiury 2-0, thus winning the ticket to the fight for gold.
On the other hand, Claudio D'Andrade won the bronze medal in the men's -58 kg K44 category.
The Venezuelan athlete won the medal after declining 0-2 with the Mexican Iván Torres in the fight that defined the final spot.
To access that instance, D'Andrade beat Peruvian Williams Fernández 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
In the women's category, Rosanny Aguilera won bronze in the -52 kg K44 category, after giving 0-2 to Brazil's Larissa Loha.
Finally, the Venezuelan harvest closed with Karlys Villamizar's medal in the +65 kg K44 division after taking bronze after giving up 2-0 to Mexico's Fernanda Vargas.
