Venezuelan pharmaceutical market has grown 42.17% so far in 2024

Venezuela's pharmaceutical market grew by 42.17% in the first eight months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry released by the newspaper Últimas Noticias.

According to these data, the cumulative number of drugs distributed in the first eight months of 2024 reached 202.57 million, 42.17% more than in the same period last year, when 142.48 million were distributed.

In addition, in August of this year, some 24.7 million drugs were allocated to the market, while in the same month of 2023 there were about 20.8 million, with growth continuing.

This uptick highlights the increase in the availability of hormones, antiparasitic drugs, products for diabetes and digestive system, cardiovascular diseases, among others.
