Venezuelan scientists repudiate threats of military siege and blockade by the United States

The Venezuelan scientific community, through a statement, expressed its firm repudiation of recent statements by the United States Government, which include threats of military siege and naval blockades against the nation.

The academic sector warns that these measures aggravate the current crisis and represent a violation of national sovereignty through collective sanctions that affect energy flows and the stability of the State.

The statement issued by the researchers noted that the US administration's proclamation generates immediate material consequences, actions that increase uncertainty in international markets and hinder legitimate scientific cooperation.

In addition, they denounce that these pressures serve as a justification for other governments to impose additional restrictions for fear of secondary sanctions.
