Venezuelan surfing secured six tickets to the Central American Games in Santo Domingo

Venezuelan surfing qualified six representatives to the Central American Games in Santo Domingo 2026 in three of the modalities developed within the framework of the Pan American Championship held in Playa Venao, Panama.
The Venezuelan delegation was left with six of the eight odds offered in the continental joust, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.
Edimar Luque opened the qualifying series for Santo Domingo 2026 and won the ticket in Sup surf.
Luque reached the spot after finishing fourth in the standings, obtaining the best score of 5.64 in the first round of repechage.
Also in the women's division, but in the short table, Kellyani Flores and Silvana Martínez secured a place by closing both in 28th position.
The Venezuelan women managed to advance only the first two rounds in the modality and obtained scores of 5.83 and 6.94 respectively in their most outstanding participations.
For his part, José Antepaz showed an outstanding performance of 8 points in the first and second rounds (8.9; 8.1) that allowed him to enter the seven best longboard players and claim the men's first Central American ticket.
In the men's short table, Rafael “Nono” Pereira, bronze medalist in the 2025 Alas Latin Tour, won the classification to Santo Domingo, after finishing in seventh place in the specialty, accompanied by compatriot José Joaquín López on rung 13, who also won a ticket to the July joust.
