The swimmer left behind Isabella Páez's previous record with 59.37. In addition, this record placed the Venezuelan athlete as one of the fastest swimmers in the continent, having the fourth best Latin American brand, according to the sports press.

This 100-meter butterfly competition was dominated by American women Gretchen Walsh, with a record of 54.33; Claire Curzan with 58.44 and Audrey Derivaux with a record of 58.68.

Lyon also stood out with her participation in the 50-meter butterfly, where she placed third with a time of 26.32 seconds, while the North American Walsh took the test by stopping the stopwatch at 25.08, followed by her compatriot Kate Douglas with 25.24.

According to the Ministry of People's Power for Sport, this time, Lyon was just 0.02 seconds away from matching its own national record for the event, which it set at the World Aquatics Championships, Singapore 2025.
