Venezuelan table tennis seeks to continue advancing in the 2025 Youth Pan American Championship

The Venezuelan table tennis team comprised of Carlos Ríos, Jesús Tovar, Erick Pérez and Yeifrer Soteldo reached the quarterfinals and ranked among the eight best in the continent in the 2025 Pan-American Youth Championship being held at the Parque Independencia fairgrounds in Rosario, Argentina.
The U-19 national team team started with a 3-0 victory against Mexico, with the winning rackets of Tovar who beat Jorge Buenstro 3-2, followed by Ríos who placed the 3-1 lead against Eli Burgos, while Soteldo sentenced the series 3-1 against Ilan Lima.
On the second day of competition, they fell to the United States with a hard-fought 3-2 result in which Rios and Tovar took the first two sets, but they did not maintain the advantage of the match. To close out the group stage, Venezuela faced Canada with victory. Rios opened the scoring with 3-0 against Kenny Ly, Tovar held the 3-1 lead against Laurent Jutria and Soteldo signed the 3-1 victory against Frederick Zhang.
In the quarterfinals, the Venezuelan national team yielded to the Amazonian team 3-0 while placing himself among the eight best in the continent in this sporting event. The Venezuelan duo advanced by bye to the round of 32 and will face Mexicans Buenstro and Burgos on Friday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m., while the individual category will be played on Saturday, August 30.
