The Venezuelan women's volleyball team secured their participation in the 2026 South American Championship by winning their second consecutive victory in the tournament after beating Bolivia 3-0 (25-12,25-15 and 28-26) in the South American Cup of the discipline that was held at the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum in San Borja de Lima, Peru.

The most outstanding Venezuelan players in the match were Mariangel Requena and Reibeth Artigas, both with 14 units.

The Criollas finished sixth in the tournament, after beating Ecuador 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-11) and 3-0 (25-12,25-15 and 28-26) against Bolivia and falling 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-13) to Colombia and 3-1 (25-15, 15-25,25-15,25-16) to Argentina.

On the other hand, Brazil was at the top of the podium, beating Colombia 3-0 (25-22,25-21,25-22). The podium was completed by the Argentine team that beat Chile 3-0 (25-14, 25-21.25-20).

The women's national team will now play from September 8 to 13, at the Maracanazinho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the South American Senior Championship that will award the three best qualified tickets to the 2027 World Cup in the United States and Canada, and the champion team will keep the only place in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
