The Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas reconfirmed her dominance in the triple jump when she won this Saturday in the 45th edition of the Spanish Women's Club Championship, Iberdrola Cup, played at the Palau Velódromo Luis Puig in Valencia, representing FC Barcelona.
Rojas took the victory with an impressive jump of 14.95 meters, a mark that allowed him to set a new record for the event, surpassing his own record of 14.79 meters achieved in the edition held in Madrid in 2017, according to a press release from Team Rojas.
With that record, achieved in his first attempt, Rojas also secured his qualification for the 2026 Indoor World Championship and positioned himself as the world leader of the nascent season, according to the specialized press.
Yulimar opened with a strong jump of 14.95 meters that defined the race from the start, then registered a null attempt in his second jump, reached 14.43 meters in the third, returned to score a foul on the fourth attempt and decided not to make the fifth or the sixth jump, strategically managing his advantage.
