The vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodrigue z, regretted the statements made by the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, regarding destabilizing plans against the nation.

Through his account on the social network X, Rodríguez recalled that Guterres “has never spoken out about the well-founded threats of assassination against Pdte @NicolasMaduro or against destabilizing plans and violence, which include attacks on military installations.”

In this regard, the executive vice-president assured that Venezuela maintains permanent communication with Guterres, to alert him “not only to plans devised abroad with the support of Venezuelan extremism against the country's tranquility, but also to the serious threat to peace in the region by the United States, in conjunction with the government of Guyana, to impose territorial dispossession on the Essequibo.”

“We regret that SG Guterres disdains internal and external threats against the Venezuelan people, and places his opinions behind the back of the country, a member of the UN system. Venezuela will continue its path in defense of democracy, peace and the happiness of the people,” wrote the Vice President.

Rodríguez's response responded to the statement made by Antonio Guterres, who said that he “regrets any event that could hinder electoral guarantees. It recalls the need to guarantee the right to vote and to be elected through authentic periodic elections”.
