Vice President of Namibia congratulated Venezuela on the victory of President Nicolás Maduro

The vice-president of the Republic of Namibia and presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, expressed to the Venezuelan ambassador to that African nation, Magaly Henríquez González, congratulations on the electoral victory of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
In that regard, during a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador, Nandi-Ndaitwah stated that the Venezuelan head of state is her friend, so she reiterated the good friendship they have forged after their visit to the country in December 2022.
“Venezuela and Namibia have a friendship with a long history, they are friendly countries that share the same anti-colonialist and anti-imperialist struggle, and our government parties are also allies and friends,” he said.
“The Swapo and the PSUV have the same vision of working for the well-being of the population, both consider the integration of peoples the necessary mechanism to overcome foreign domination,” he stressed.
For her part, Ambassador Magaly Henríquez González thanked the Government of Namibia for their congratulations and support and indicated that she would extend the warm recognition expressed to the Venezuelan Government.
He also ratified the will to continue working to consolidate the bilateral relationship and highlighted the importance of establishing cooperation projects that promote scientific and technological development, since he believes that technology is a cross-cutting area and indispensable for the development of peoples.
“The socialization of knowledge and the right to free education in schools and universities was a social policy taught to us by President Hugo Chávez, the future is in the hands of young people, so we must provide them with all the tools,” he said.
Henríquez mentioned all the public social protection policies promoted in the 25 years of the Bolivarian Revolution, such as the Great Venezuela Housing Mission (GNVV), which has become a vanguard project of the Revolution, “for which we make all this accumulated experience available to Namibia,” he said.
The vice-president of Namibia recalled that during her visit to Venezuela she applauded the progress that this country has made despite the sanctions and emphasized the agricultural development that the country has achieved.
The Venezuelan ambassador thanked the presidential candidate for the pleasant reception and the expressions of solidarity she has received from the people and the Government of Namibia.
Both authorities agreed to work hard to continue strengthening the ties of cooperation and brotherhood between the two nations.
Venezuela and Namibia celebrated 34 years of binational relations and held their first Joint Commission in March 2023.
