Vice President Rodríguez spoke with Foreign Minister Lavrov: Russia will continue to support the direction of the Bolivarian Government

The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, maintained a telephone contact with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, who confirmed the support of the Government of the Eurasian nation with the People and Government of Venezuela.

This was reported by Foreign Minister Yván Gil in a message published through his account on the social network Telegram, where he specified that during the conversation the Russian diplomat emphasized that “Russia will continue to support the direction of the Bolivarian Government, aimed at protecting national interests and the country's sovereignty”.

“The Parties expressed their position on the need to avoid further escalation and find a solution to the situation through dialogue,” he said, while stressing that the conversation “expressed their mutual willingness to continue strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela.”
