Vice President Rodríguez: The end of the blockade is a national outcry!

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that the end of the economic blockade is a national outcry.

“There is absolute unity in rejecting the criminal blockade against Venezuela. The economic, commercial and financial blockade against Venezuela must cease, it is a national outcry!” , Rodríguez pointed out during his speech at the International Economic Seminar on Economic Development.

In this regard, he explained that Venezuela is the country with the highest energy resources, has the main export product (oil) in this region and that is why it has been the target of aggression by the US government.

He stressed that appropriating the country's resources has always been the agenda of the United States (USA), while recalling that the economic blockade began in 2013, with 2017 being the blockade against the Venezuelan oil industry. “This caused the restriction on foreign exchange earnings in Venezuela to be 97%,” he said.

He recalled that Venezuela, because it is a country dependent on oil revenues, had to diversify its economy, which has currently allowed food production to reach more than 90%.

He assured that the country has important characteristics in terms of energy in the world.
