The spokeswoman for Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pham Thu Hang, said that her nation has traditionally maintained good relations with Venezuela and wishes to continue developing cooperation within the framework of a comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
This statement was made by the Spokesperson during a briefing, responding to a question about the impact of recent events in Venezuela on future cooperation between Hanoi and Caracas.
Previously, Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern about the January 3 events in Venezuela, urging the parties to act with restraint and resolve disputes and disagreements based on international law.
The United States carried out a military intervention in Venezuela in which there were more than 100 dead and the same number of injured, an operation that culminated in the kidnapping of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and the first lady Cilia Flores, who were transferred to New York.
