The coordinator of the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence, Ernesto Villegas, stressed that the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without sanctions and in peace, is aimed at unifying the country's voice against unilateral coercive measures.

During an interview broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, he highlighted the symbolic nature of the mobilization, noting that it coincides with a historical date linked to the first cry of independence and with a collective expression of a spiritual nature that transcends religion.

“Two sacred elements come together: the sacred date, the first cry of independence, and the other sacred aspect is the pilgrimage that has a name of a religious vocation, but which goes beyond religion,” he said.

Villegas reaffirmed that the central objective of this day is to make visible the rejection of sanctions, which he described as an obstacle to the social welfare and development of the country, while insisting on the need to guarantee the full exercise of citizen rights.

He also called on the centers of international power to heed the cry of the Venezuelan people, assuring that the mobilization brings together various sectors in a single demand for the lifting of these measures.

He stressed that this day will be consolidated as a national expression that will bring together different sectors of the country around the demand for the cessation of sanctions and the construction of a scenario of peace and development.
