Vuelta Internacional a La Azulita will bring together more than 150 cyclists in Mérida

More than 150 cyclists will participate in the XXIX edition of the International Tour of La Azulita, which will take place from August 20 to 22 in the state of Mérida, with four stages and a total route of 107 kilometers.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the general director of the competition, Gregorio Pietro, reported that cyclists from 15 states of the country are registered, in addition to a Colombian delegation of nine athletes, including Jesús Garzón and Yosimar Botero, both two-time champions of the Vuelta and recent champions in Colombia.

He also noted that eight members of the Venezuelan mountain biking team will compete in the joust as part of their preparation for the South American Games, scheduled for September in Argentina, and the Pan-American Mountain Biking Championship, to be held in Chile.

The Mayor's Office of the Andrés Bello municipality will guarantee the deployment of security and care during the competition, with health and Civil Protection teams, three ambulances, two patrols and 17 motorcycles from the Peace Quadrants.
