The governor of the state of Yaracuy, Leonardo Intoci, reported that with the start-up of the Hugo Chávez Citadel pumping station and the rehabilitation of the deep well in the El Guarapo sector in San Felipe, more than 3,500 families are directly benefiting.

Intoci explained that the work was carried out in a record way to solve the need for water in the communities served.

He commented that both projects were approved in the first National Popular Consultation 2026. In the Hugo Chávez citadel, two 15 HP centrifugal pumps were installed, in addition to their electrical components. With these improvements, the station now reaches an operational capacity with a flow of 16 liters per second, which significantly increases water pressure throughout the residential area, while in El Guarapo, comprehensive rehabilitation work was carried out on the deep water well , with the installation of a new set of 25 HP motor and pump, panels and electrical systems. Now, this source generates a flow of 12 liters per second for the communities of El Guarapo, Recta I and II, and Guarataro Centro.
