The Venezuelan weightlifting team closed its presentation at the XX Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games, with a total of 12 gold medals.

He also won 9 silver and 8 bronze, for a total of 29 medals.

The Creole delegation in weightlifting was only surpassed by Colombia, which won the same total number of medals, but divided into 17 gold, 10 silver and 2 bronze.

On the last day of the weights, Venezuela added 6 metals divided into: 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze. The experienced Dayana Chirinos dominated the 86 kg division in the envión mode after lifting 143 kg and took the silver at the start by lifting 110 kg for a total of 253 kg.

For his part, Mauricio Loaiza played his first Bolivarian event in the 110 kg division where he won silver at the start with 164 kg and the same medal in envión with 202 kg for a total of 366 kg.

In addition, Naryury Pérez won a bronze medal at the start after lifting 110 kg, but suffered an injury and retired from the competition.

Meanwhile, Luis Espinosa won the bronze medal in competition after lifting 191 kg, while at the start he placed sixth.

The Venezuelan weightlifting team outperformed its Valledupar 2022 performance, when it ranked third in the standings with 9 golds, 10 silvers and 11 bronzes (30), surpassed by Colombia (22-15-3) and Ecuador (9-11-7).
