What did Diosdado Cabello say on August 5, 2024?

This Monday, August 5th, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, led the red awning press conference, in which he stated that the revolutionary forces are in victory and in combat.

Regarding the scenario of fraud and violence promoted by the extreme right in the country, he said:

• He put back into practice the same script as 25 years ago.
• “The script is to participate in elections, as ordered by gringos, who sometimes tell them not to participate, but what they do fully comply with is that, if they participate or not, they sing fraud.”
• “The lies that are expressed there (in the minutes) that are not acts, of flat signatures, of non-existent names, of inconsistencies, are terrible.”
• “They said they had 30% of the discharges, then 70%, then they returned to 30% and in the end what they have are 9,000 documents that fail to make minutes.”
• “They tried, through violence, to attack the Miraflores Palace on the 29th, because of the violence they burned health centers, police units, transportation, murdered fellow officers of the Bolivarian National Guard and some compatriots, they persecuted the leadership of the PSUV and have threatened in every way.”
• “Rats and mice are fleeing, hiding, they don't face the consequences of their actions, they don't take responsibility for what they do, they live selling smoke to their own people and unfortunately there are still sectors that love to be manipulated (...)”.

He also denounced the attack against Venezuela through social networks:

• “We are in the presence of the crudest cyberfascism and technofascism, which is the use of networks to generate fear, persecution, impose matrices of opinion and take for granted things that have never happened.”
• “Terrible expressions of hate against leaders and their communities have been generated through networks.”
• “They are not going to overthrow the government using TikTok, here is a people who are willing to defend the Revolution. Venezuela will continue to be a territory of peace and the vanguard of the entire world.”

He emphasized that the Revolution will continue to guarantee the peace and justice that the People acclaim.

• “The Bolivarian Revolution, today, with the terrorist acts carried out by that opposition sector, has the clear conviction of radicalization to hand over power to our people.”
• The PSUV and the Great Patriotic Pole have their records and are under the order of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
• “There is a reality here and that is that Maduro won on 28-J and that is not going to be changed with the networks. We can say that the coup d'etat is continuous, but we are defeating it.”
• “Now they want to say that these are political prisoners. No, they are not political prisoners, they are terrorists and justice must be taken care of.”
• “Since the Bolivarian Revolution, we want to make it clear to the whole world that we are not willing to capitulate, under any circumstances (...) those who are inventing their stories are going to fall for themselves and are going to look like liars.”
• “Fascism wants to impose itself at any cost, it doesn't care about human lives; today Venezuela raises its voice and assures that the national territory will be free of fascism, we are not going to give it space here, justice will be imposed, to guarantee peace throughout the national territory there must be justice in time.”
  
• “We will continue on the path of peace... It costs the road, but it is the one that guarantees peace of mind to our country so that our boys and girls have a beautiful homeland.”
• “The pardons are over; we have seen that a number of people arrested say: Sorry; yes, but you did, because regret is one thing, anyone can repent of their actions, it's normal, but that doesn't belong to justice, they act according to what is established in the Laws.”
• “We are obliged to block and close the path of fascism and we will do it with the Constitution and the Law in hand; we will do it, we will not be arrested or threatened or sanctioned, none of that will disturb us in the unwavering decision that there should be justice in Venezuela and I think that the people are crying out for it.”
