WHO: 21 patients die as a result of a new siege of Gaza hospital

The WHO urged Israel to provide access and a humanitarian corridor to be able to transfer and save patients' lives.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, reported that 21 patients have died in the hospital, Al-Shifa, the largest in Gaza, as a result of shelling by the Israeli regime.

 

In this regard, Adhanom reported through the social network X that “hostilities continue around the hospital (...) food is restricted to the extreme, potentially threatening the lives of diabetic patients whose condition is worsening”.

 

He also explained that more than 100 patients, including four children and 28 others in critical condition, who were trapped inside the medical center “many have infected wounds and suffer from dehydration.”

 

 

According to the website of the Xinhua news agency, the WHO urged Israel to provide access and a humanitarian corridor in order to transfer and save patients' lives.
