WHO: MPOX continues as a public health emergency

The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, reported that MPOX (Monkey Pox) continues to represent a public health emergency of international importance.

During a meeting with members of the MPOX Emergency Committee, they noted the increase in the number of cases and their continued geographical spread, reports the TASS news agency.

“I call on affected countries to intensify their responses and to the solidarity of the international community to help us put an end to outbreaks of the disease,” Adhanom Gebreyesus.

The last report on the MPOX will be released next week, the WHO said.
