This Monday, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that nearly 30,000 suspected cases of monkey pox (mpox) have been registered in Africa so far this year.
In this regard, he indicated that the country most affected is the Democratic Republic of the Congo due to the shortage of medicines and tests for the diagnosis of the disease.
The WHO noted that mpox has claimed the lives of more than 800 people on this continent so far in 2024.
