The Women's Baseball Team, after being crowned undefeated in the Pan American Championship, already has a road map for the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup 2026.
The national team, currently number 4 in the world ranking, will play the first phase in Taiwan (China Taipei), against the locals, Japan, Cuba, Great Britain and a team assigned via wildcard.
The event in Asia, scheduled from 23 to 27 August, will be the first major stop in the search for absolute glory for Venezuelan women, Meridiano reports.
The World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) has confirmed the distribution of the groups for the initial phase of the tournament, and Venezuela has been framed in a highly competitive sector that will be based in the city of Tainan.
Under the technical direction that led them to Pan-American gold, Team Baseball Venezuela must finish among the three best teams in their group to secure their ticket to the 2027 Final Phase.
Their confirmed rivals in the Chinese Taipei group include: Japan: Seven-time defending world champions and number 1 in the ranking. China Taipei: Local team and current number 5 in the world, Cuba: A well-known rival from the area that comes after a solid continental performance and China: Invited as one of the group's hosts, seeking to surprise
