Workers of the Popular Economy held a day to beautify the railway station

Workers from the Popular Street Economy sector of the Coche parish of Caracas, together with the organized community, carried out a day of painting, cleaning and community beautification in the spaces of the La Rinconada del Fer r ocarril station in the Valles del Tuy.

Jervin Joan González Barrios, representative of the popular street economy, stressed that this day of beautification was achieved with the efforts of workers, merchants, motorcycle taxi drivers together with the railway company IFE.

“A joint effort between workers, motorcycle taxi drivers, truck drivers, street entrepreneurs in order to make progress in recovering those places where thousands of Venezuelans travel every day,” González said.

He also made a conscious call to people not to stick papers in these places or to fulfill their physiological needs, since these are spaces for families, children and older adults to enjoy.

“We carry out the recovery of spaces by demonstrating to the labor sector its sense of belonging and activated in the rescue and care of these facilities, to serve as an example to other institutions to join the rehabilitation of public spaces,” and stressed that these recovered spaces are the places where hundreds of workers earn their daily livelihood for their children or families.
