The 6th National Craft Fair “Art, Utility and Memory” is established as a space for training and exchange, where artisans and the general public have participated in a rich agenda of workshops, forums and trade demonstrations.
Organized by the Red Art Foundation and held at the National Art Gallery (GAN), the fair has offered children, young people and adults a practical immersion in various craft techniques. Outstanding workshops include designing patchwork fabrics, making Wayuu tapestries and creating dancing devil masks from egg cartons.
At the same time, the public enjoyed professional demonstrations such as the production of natural dyes and the creation of goldsmithery pieces. The day also included important spaces for reflection in the central forums “Craftsmanship, Design, Markets and Aesthetics: The Importance of Innovation” and “Fabrics that speak and sing with their hands”. In addition, the talks “Venezuelan fibers and colors in the Wayúu artisanal fabric” and “Earth and the art of Manicure” were held.
The 6th National Craft Fair will end this Thursday, December 11, after an extensive program aimed at the formation, promotion and enhancement of Venezuelan cultural heritage.
