Yemen begins test of hypersonic missile capable of hitting targets in Israel

This Thursday, the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully tested a hypersonic missile with high destructive capacity, amid growing tensions in the Red Sea.

The Sputnik news agency detailed that the missile can reach speeds of up to Mach 8 (6200 miles per hour) and runs on solid fuel, according to a Yemeni military source.

“Yemen plans to start manufacturing it for use in attacks in the Red and Arabian Seas and in the Gulf of Aden, as well as against targets in Israel,” the Russian media said.

After months of testing, Yemeni forces have also perfected their missiles and drones to carry warheads with twice the explosive power of those in their arsenal.
