During the early morning of September 29, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out two simultaneous attacks using a next-generation hypersonic missile and drones against Tel Aviv and Eilat.
The first attack, according to military authorities in Sana'a, consisted of the launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile, identified as Palestine 2, equipped with multiple warheads, which was directed at facilities considered strategic in the Yafa area of Tel Aviv.
The projectile managed to pass through the Israeli air defense system, generating a wide activation of alarms in different cities, including Tel Aviv and Al-Quds, and forcing the population to seek refuge. During the incident, operations at Ben Gurion Airport were temporarily suspended.
Two drones were launched towards the city of Eilat, in the south of the Israeli-occupied territories, hitting targets classified as vital. The actions were presented as a direct response to the continuing Israeli offensive on Gaza and the blockade maintained on the Palestinian civilian population, which have left more than 66,000 Palestinians killed.
The Yemeni military authorities assured that both operations successfully achieved their objectives.
The attacks were described as part of Yemen's moral, religious and strategic duty to the Palestinian people, and were framed within a regional call to intensify pressure on Israel for its military actions in the Gaza Strip and other occupied territories.
