YouTube removed more than 700 videos documenting the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Fuser News website reported.
According to a report by the American media outlet The Intercept, the Google-owned platform massively deleted videos from three important Palestinian human rights organizations: Al-Haq, the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
The material reiterated on YouTube includes eyewitness testimonies, investigative reports, recordings of house demolitions in the West Bank and even an investigation into the death of the Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, killed by an Israeli sniper in June 2022.
A YouTube spokesperson, Boot Bullwinkle, told The Intercept that the action is due to Google's commitment “to complying with sanctions” against Palestinian NGOs that presented evidence of alleged crimes before the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, on whom international arrest warrants weigh.
