Yván Gil: Chávez promoted scientific knowledge to put it at the service of the country

The Supreme and Eternal Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, promoted scientific sovereignty and the development of national technology as a mechanism to put specialized knowledge at the service of the needs of our country, said the Minister of Science and Technology, Yván Gil.
Through a post on his Telegram channel, Gil highlighted that, under this vision of national development, Chávez created the Science and Technology portfolio, as well as a series of programs, laws and institutes that continue to strengthen Venezuela's scientific independence.
“These values and efforts continue to be reflected today in the commitment of the Bolivarian Government and the work of Mincyt with technological development for the people,” he said while paying tribute to Commander Chávez on the 72nd anniversary of his birth this Tuesday.
