The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, from New York City, United States (USA) participated in the XXVI Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
Gil outlined the agreements made by this mechanism in defense of imperial attacks against Latin America and the Caribbean. “Our region has a clear mission to navigate the storm that powers are throwing into our seas.”

In this regard, he stressed that “history has taught us that division makes us vulnerable, while unity has given us our greatest victories”.
“We are at a historic moment defined by global complexity where the winds of uncertainty and division are sweeping our nations,” Gil said during his participation.
In addition, he stressed that “Latin American and Caribbean unity is not simply a romantic aspiration, it is a strategic need.”
